    Steve recently retired as Vice President and Chief Customer Officer at both UNS Energy Corporation and Tucson Electric Power Company, where he was responsible for positioning both with regulators, customers and the greater community, overseeing customer service, corporate communications, consumer relations, community affairs and government relations. Steve joined UNS Energy and TEP in 2000. From February to August, 2005, Steve also served as the Interim President and CEO of Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities, Inc. (TREO), a joint venture of city/county governments and the business community. Prior to joining UNS Energy and TEP, he spent 16 years as CEO and owner-partner at Nordensson Lynn & Associates, Inc., one of Arizona’s leading marketing communications firms based.

    Steve serves as chairman of the Arizona Early Childhood Development and Health Board (First Things First)
    Advisory Board member of The University of Arizona Health Network, and The UofA College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
    Past chairman of Arizona’s First Independent Redistricting Commission (2001-2011), The Downtown Tucson Partnership, and Southern Arizona Leadership Council Board of Directors
    Member of the DM – 50 support group
    Founding board member of the Science Foundation Arizona
    His many other civic activities, both past and present, include board memberships on the Arizona Hospital and Health Care Service Corporation, Downtown Development Corporation, University Physicians Healthcare, and the Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities, Inc.

    A graduate of The University of Arizona, Steve holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s in Communications. 2009, Steve received a Doctor of Letters degree (Honoris Causa) from The UofA College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the College of Education.

    Steve worked his way through college as an accident investigator/photographer for the Arizona Department of Public Safety (Highway Patrol).

    2008 Arizona Capitol Times’ Leader of the Year in Volunteerism
    2007, he was presented with the “Distinguished Citizen” Award by The University of Arizona Alumni Association and the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
    2007 “Man of the Year” by the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce
    1994, Steve was named “Advertising Professional of the Year” by the Tucson Advertising Federation.
